openwrt auf ASUS WL-700gE

FIXME development not for reuse!!!

Booten des Standard-Systems

Mein System ist ausgestattet mit einer 250GB IDE-Platte. Ein Versuch das System ohne angeschlossene Platte zu booten schlägt fehl. Hier ist ein tcpdump dessen, was passiert, wenn man das System bootet.

EZ Flash

OpenWRT draufbringen

Achtung: Die ASUS Festplatte wird komplett gelöscht!

  • WL-700gE vom Stromnetz trennen
  • EZ SETUP Knopf drücken und währenddessen mit dem Stromnetz verbinden
  • Wenn die [READY] LED aufhört zu blinken (ca. 1 sec nach 5-6x Blinken), dann prüfen, ob ein ping 192.168.1.1 funktioniert
  • Jetzt mittels tftp die Firmware openwrt-brcm-2.4-squashfs.trx übertragen
    • tftp
      • open 192.168.1.1 (alternativ: connect 192.168.1.1 )
      • trace
      • verbose
      • binary
      • put openwrt-brcm-2.4-squashfs.trx
        • Sent 1839104 bytes in 3.9 seconds
    • Nach der Übertragung schaltet sich der Router komplett aus.
    • Strom rein und schauen was passiert.
      • ping auf 192.168.1.1 ist erfolgreich
      • tftp auf 192.168.1.1 wie oben kann wiederholt werden
      • telnet geht nicht :-(
      • [READY] LED blinkt .. blinkt .. blinkt ..
  • Nächster Versuch mit dem nicht vertrauenswürdigen V2 Image - telnet funktioniert :-)

Original OpenWRT

  • Mit dem richtigen Timing klappt es auch mit dem Original Image.
  • Anm. Es ist eine 2GB Harddisk angeschlossen um zu prüfen, ob das System auch mit anderen Harddisks kann. Es kann!

    • dd if=WL700gE_1.0.7.8.nas of=asus.trx bs=1 count=1839104 skip=170 erzeugt uns die flash-Datei, die wir mittels mtd auf das System bringen könnten.
