IBM BladeCenter Update Procedure
Management Module
Die Default-IP-Adresse des Management Moduls ist 192.168.70.125/24, Standard User ist USERID, Kennwort PASSW0RD (0=Null). Die Management-Oberfläche ist via http://192.168.70.125/ erreichbar.
Aktueller Stand
Über Monitors → Firmware VPD wird der aktuelle Firmware Status angezeigt.

Konfiguration sichern
Über MM Control → Configuration File kann man ein Backup ziehen asm.cfg. Hier kann die Konfiguration auch zurückgesichert werden.
Update Prozess
MM Control → Firmware Update
.pkt-Dateien, die hierüber zur Aktualisierung verwendet werden könnencnetmnus.pktcnetrgus.pkt
- Restart MM
cnetcmus.pkt ist die Aktualisierung für das Advanced Management Module. Nur wenn dieses Hardwareseitig exisitiert, kann das ca. 8MB große Update eingespielt werden.
Blades (Type 8843)
Blade Tasks → Firmware Update
.pkt-Dateien, die hier zur Aktualisierung verwendet werden können, befinden sich im Image (z.B.41y7904.img)bwbt23a.pkt- Die Aktualisierung des BMC benötigt je Blade ca. 7min
qlogic Firmware Update
Wichtig: Es muss erst die aktuelle Blade Firmware geladen sein!
Um Zeit zu sparen und flexibler zu sein, wird ein DHCP-Server mit PXE-Server verwendet, um via Bootmenü Diskettenimages bereitzustellen. Die Blades sind dann via PXE-Boot zu booten.
Unter /tftpboot/PXEClient/blade.hs20/ werden bootfähige Diskettenimages abgelegt, die die aktuelle Firmware enthalten.
